There are more than 20 science and maths fair projects to help children with literacy and numeracy in the classroom.
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) said the events were being run by schools and teachers to encourage students to take part in science projects.
“There’s lots of exciting opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young people,” Ms Wodek said.
“We need to keep young people excited and learning and working hard to do that.”
She said the school nurse who runs the project was an avid science enthusiast and was keen to get involved.
“She’s really excited to get to do this for her school, to help make sure kids have the best possible education and learning experiences,” Ms Wang said.
